Fenrir

T1URWarrior
Role: Bruiser DPS / Crowd Control
Faction: Eternal Frost
Best For: AoE crowd control, PvP disruption, Tanky damage dealer

Overview

Fenrir is a legendary wolf warrior who dominates the battlefield through a lethal combination of AoE crowd control and sustained bruiser damage. As a T1 Warrior from the Eternal Frost faction, he excels at disrupting enemy teams with mass freeze effects while dealing respectable damage. Fenrir is the perfect hybrid character - tanky enough to frontline, damaging enough to threaten carries, and controlling enough to lock down entire teams. He shines in PvP Arena, multi-wave campaign stages, and any content requiring crowd control.

Skills & Abilities

Howl of the Frozen Moon

Active Ultimate
Energy: 1000Cooldown: 17 seconds

Fenrir howls, unleashing a freezing shockwave that deals 480% Physical DMG to all enemies in a large AoE (12-meter radius). All hit enemies are frozen for 2.5 seconds and slowed by 50% for an additional 4 seconds after thawing.

Special Effect: The freeze prevents enemies from moving, attacking, or casting abilities. The follow-up slow ensures even after thawing, enemies remain vulnerable. Against melee-heavy teams, this 6.5-second total CC locks the entire frontline out of combat.

Strategy: Use Howl of the Frozen Moon as engagement opener in PvP to freeze the entire enemy team, allowing your DPS to freely attack. In PvE, save it for multi-enemy waves to lock down all threats simultaneously.

Savage Fang

Passive Damage Amp

Fenrir's basic attacks apply [Bleeding] for 5 seconds, dealing 40% Physical DMG per second. Against enemies affected by Bleeding, Fenrir gains 30% ATK and 25% lifesteal.

Special Effect: This creates a sustain loop: Fenrir applies bleeds → gains lifesteal → heals while damaging. In prolonged fights, Fenrir can outheal incoming damage through sheer lifesteal volume, making him extremely difficult to kill.

Strategy: Focus targets one at a time to maximize Bleeding uptime and lifesteal. Against bosses, Fenrir becomes a self-sustaining bruiser who doesn't need dedicated healing support.

Winter's Endurance

Passive Tenacity + HP Scaling

Fenrir gains 50 Tenacity (reduces CC duration by 50%) and 20% damage reduction. Additionally, all of Fenrir's damage scales with 1% of his max HP (100k HP = 1000 bonus ATK).

Strategy: This allows HP-focused builds where Fenrir stacks HP for survivability and damage simultaneously. A tanky Fenrir with 500k HP effectively has +5000 ATK from this passive, dealing bruiser damage while having tank-level durability.

Why This Tier?

  • ✓Mass Freeze Control: AoE freeze on ultimate affecting up to 5 enemies, locking down entire teams
  • ✓Bruiser Scaling: High base HP and DEF combined with respectable ATK allows flexible build paths
  • ✓Crowd Control Chain: Freeze duration stacks with slow effects, creating 5+ second lockdown windows
  • ✓Faction Utility: Eternal Frost provides energy regen and resistance bonuses
  • ✓Versatile Role: Functions as off-tank, crowd controller, or damage dealer depending on team needs

Stat Priorities & Gear

Best-in-Slot Gear

Frostbite Warlord Set (4-piece)

2-piece: +15% HP

4-piece: Crowd control effects last 0.5 seconds longer. Gain 10% lifesteal against CC'd targets

Stats Priority

1.
HP%- Scales both survivability and damage via Winter's Endurance
2.
ATK%- Direct damage scaling for abilities and bleeds
3.
Crit Rate- 40-50% (enables damage spikes)
4.
Speed- More ults = more freeze CC
5.
Lifesteal- 10-15% (synergizes with Savage Fang)

Artifact: Fang of the Eternal Winter

+0: Frozen enemies take 20% increased damage from all sources

+20: Howl of the Frozen Moon freeze duration increased to 3.5 seconds (from 2.5s)

+30: When an enemy thaws from freeze, Fenrir gains a shield equal to 30% of his max HP for 6 seconds

Priority: Rush to +20 for the 3.5-second freeze - this is crucial for PvP lockdown. At +30, Fenrir becomes nearly unkillable as he gains massive shields every 17 seconds while simultaneously crowd controlling.

Best Team Compositions

Faction Bonus: 4 Sanctum Glory (Athena, Hades, Gabriel, Scheherazade) = +20% ATK/HP

Counters & Weaknesses

Hard Counters

  • Tenacity Stacking: Characters building 100+ Tenacity reduce Fenrir's freeze duration to 1-1.5 seconds, negating his crowd control effectiveness.
  • Cleanse Support: Ophelia or other priests can instantly remove freeze effects, wasting Fenrir's ultimate.
  • True Damage: Ares' True Damage bypasses Fenrir's high HP/DEF, dealing full undiluted damage and burning through his sustain.

Soft Counters

  • • High burst damage: Gabriel, Hades (can kill Fenrir before he builds up lifesteal)
  • • Anti-heal debuffs: Gullveig reduces Fenrir's lifesteal effectiveness
  • • Evasion: High dodge characters avoid Bleeding application

Build Guide & Progression

Early Game (Levels 1-100)

Goal: Establish Fenrir as frontline bruiser

  • •Focus on HP% main stats on Helmet, Armor, Boots
  • •Use any 4-piece HP or hybrid set (Frostbite Warlord ideal)
  • •Level Howl of the Frozen Moon first for crowd control
  • •Position in slot 2 (right frontline) to maximize AoE coverage
  • •Pair with a tank (Athena/Siegfried) to form double frontline

Skill Priority: Howl of the Frozen Moon > Savage Fang > Winter's Endurance

Mid Game (Levels 100-200)

Goal: Balance HP and ATK for bruiser scaling

  • •Farm Frostbite Warlord 4-piece from frost dungeons
  • •Stack HP to 350k+ total (gives +3500 ATK from Winter's Endurance)
  • •Add ATK% substats to reach 25k+ base ATK
  • •Unlock Fang of the Eternal Winter artifact and level to +10
  • •Use Fenrir as primary crowd controller in PvP arena

Skill Priority: All skills to level 10+, artifact to +20 for freeze duration

Late Game (Level 200+)

Goal: Become unkillable CC machine

  • •Replace with Red-tier Frostbite Warlord set
  • •Max artifact to +30 for shield generation
  • •Optimize substats: HP%, ATK%, Crit Rate, Speed
  • •Target 500k HP (gives +5000 ATK) with 30k+ base ATK
  • •Use HP% gems in defensive slots, ATK% gems in offensive slots

Skill Priority: Max all skills to level 15+, artifact +30 priority

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I build Fenrir as tank or DPS?

HYBRID. Thanks to Winter's Endurance, HP directly scales damage, so building tanky also increases damage output. Optimal build is 60% HP gear, 40% ATK gear. This creates a bruiser with 500k HP (gives +5k ATK), 30k base ATK (35k total), dealing respectable damage while being extremely hard to kill.

Is Fenrir good without artifact +20?

He's functional but not optimal. The +1 second freeze duration (2.5s → 3.5s) is a 40% increase in CC time. Without it, enemies thaw too quickly in PvP. Fenrir needs artifact +20 minimum to be competitive in endgame PvP arena.

How does Fenrir compare to other frontline warriors?

Ares: Better sustain, True Damage, but no CC. Siegfried: Tankier, better damage soak, but no control. Fenrir: Middle-ground tank stats with unmatched crowd control. Use Fenrir when you need to lock down enemy teams, Ares for damage, Siegfried for pure tanking.

What's the minimum investment for Fenrir?

6-Star (2 copies) with purple HP/ATK hybrid gear and level 8 skills works for early/mid game. However, Fenrir truly shines at 10-Star (Red 1) with artifact +20 and 400k+ HP. Crowd control effectiveness scales with freeze duration and survivability, both requiring heavy investment.

There is more than one Fenrir in the game. Other version: Fenrir (SR Assassin, T4).
