Our Take on Jormungandr
This is the SSR Sanctum Glory Assassin version of Jormungandr; a separate SR Eternal Frost Mage focused on poison also exists. This one hunts wounded targets: Ravaging Maw fires every 8 seconds for 50% Attack plus 35% of the target's lost HP, and doubles to 70% of lost HP while in [Grace].
Strengths
- +Ravaging Maw scales with the target's lost HP, capped at 350% normally and 700% in [Grace], and level 7 shortens its timer to 6 seconds.
- +Titancoil Domain launches a target for 400% damage and follows with a 240% circle attack carrying a double maw effect.
- +Chaos Banquet grants [Morale] when Overdrive or secret skills hit punished targets, and level 4 grants [Morale] to himself and 2 random allies on kills.
- +Level 2 resets all skill cooldowns by 2 seconds when a maw hit crits.
Weaknesses
- โRavaging Maw is weak against full-HP targets because half of its formula depends on lost HP.
- โSeveral bonuses require a Punishment trigger, and his own kit does not clearly apply Punishment by itself.
- โHis kit builds [Morale] but has no [Fervor] source, so [Grace] needs an ally.
How to Play Jormungandr
Play Jormungandr as a front-line Assassin that follows up after other damage dealers have softened targets. Bladescale Dance applies physical defense down on a single target; Venombrand adds healing down and extra maw damage when Punishment triggers. Use Titancoil Domain on a wounded enemy to make the most of the double maw effect. Level 7 is the most valuable enhancement since it raises Ravaging Maw frequency by a quarter, and level 4 helps the team build [Morale] for [Grace].
Good Teammates
- Ophelia (SSR) โ Ophelia's Sacred Guard grants [Fervor], completing [Grace] with the [Morale] Jormungandr builds from Chaos Banquet.
- Van Helsing (SSR) โ Van Helsing's Grenade triggers Punishment, which is what Chaos Banquet and Venombrand check for.
- Medusa (SSR) โ Medusa's Stonegaze can trigger Punishment, giving Jormungandr punished targets for his [Morale] gain.
Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.
Should You Invest?
Jormungandr (SSR) is rated T3 here. He rewards a team that can supply Punishment and [Fervor]; without both, his kit runs at a fraction of its potential, so he is a mid-to-late priority.
