Our Take on Oberonnie
This is the SR Guardian Oberonnie (oberonnie-sr), separate from the SR Mage listed as oberonnie. She tanks with shields and Dodge: Might of Mother Nature hits a large circle for 240% physical damage, inflicts [Chill] and gives her a shield worth 35% of Max HP for 8 seconds. While shielded, Shield Bash raises her Magic Defense by 44% and turns her basic attacks into area damage.
Strengths
- +Warden increases her self-generated shields by 30%, so Might of Mother Nature's 35% Max HP shield is larger in practice.
- +Primal Evasion gives 350 Dodge, plus 350 more against attackers carrying an [Elemental Debuff], and her own Overdrive applies [Chill] to enemies around her.
- +At talent level 2 she enters [Wild] and heals 4% of Max HP on every dodge, and level 4 adds a 20% Max HP shield on entering [Wild].
Weaknesses
- โShield Bash only works while she has a shield, so between Overdrive shields she loses the Magic Defense bonus and area basic attacks.
- โDodge-based defense is luck-dependent, and the text does not say how 350 Dodge converts into an actual dodge chance.
How to Play Oberonnie
Oberonnie belongs in the front row. Cast Might of Mother Nature when enemies surround her: the [Chill] it applies makes those enemies trigger her extra 350 Dodge, and the shield turns on Shield Bash. Talent level 2 is the most important upgrade, since it adds [Wild] and a 4% Max HP heal per dodge, which is her only self-healing. Level 4 then gives a fresh shield on entering [Wild], keeping Shield Bash active. Level 3's 12% HP also makes each shield bigger, because they scale with Max HP.
Good Teammates
- Drasill (SSR) โ Drasill's Nature's Embrace shields all allies, keeping Shield Bash active between her own shields, and Root Juice regenerates shielded [Wild] allies for 2% Max HP per second.
- Buck (SR) โ Buck's Magma Pulse applies [Ignite] across a large circle, so more attackers carry an elemental-type debuff when they hit her, which should grant her extra 350 Dodge.
- Caligula (SR) โ Caligula's Sacred Blessing auto-casts a shield when an ally first enters [Wild], which re-enables Shield Bash right as Oberonnie's [Wild] begins.
Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.
Should You Invest?
SR Oberonnie is rated T4 on this site. Her shield and Dodge kit is self-consistent but needs talent level 2 before she has any sustain. She is a reasonable placeholder tank, but higher-tier Guardians are better long-term targets.
Oberonnie FAQ
