Our Take on Polyphemus
Polyphemus is an SR Archer who mixes area damage with a summoned Bear. Meteor Shower throws a rock for 400% physical damage in a large circle, and Elegance in Motion follows with 240% in a medium circle. His talent Beast Companion gives basic attacks a 35% chance to deal an extra 160% and summon a Bear that inherits 50% of his Attack and 30% of his HP.
Strengths
- +Meteor Shower is a 400% large-circle hit, a lot of area damage for a single skill.
- +Cannibalize grants 100 Crit with no condition, plus 15 per [Deathrattle] stack.
- +At talent level 4, holding both [Morale] and [Fervor] puts him in [Grace], which doubles his own damage, and level 2 already gives him [Morale] when he casts Meteor Shower.
Weaknesses
- โHis kit has no [Fervor] source, so the doubled damage of [Grace] depends on an ally.
- โOnly one Bear can exist at a time, and its 30% HP inheritance makes it fragile.
How to Play Polyphemus
Keep Polyphemus in the back row and save Meteor Shower for when the most enemies sit inside its large circle. With talent level 2, that cast also gives him [Morale], so a teammate who supplies [Fervor] then puts him in [Grace] for double damage. Level 4 is his most important upgrade by a wide margin. Between skills, basic attacks have a 35% chance to summon or refresh his Bear; the text does not say whether a new proc replaces an existing Bear. Level 3's 12% Attack is a minor gain.
Good Teammates
- Goren (SSR) โ Goren's Rocket Skull grants [Fervor] to allies in a medium area, which combines with Polyphemus's Meteor Shower [Morale] to enter [Grace] and double his damage.
- Eurytion (SR) โ Eurytion grants [Fervor] to himself and the nearest ally on entering [Wild] at talent level 2, another route to Polyphemus's [Grace].
- Siegfried (SR) โ The SR Siegfried's Flamecleave applies [Physical Defense Down] in a rectangular area, boosting Meteor Shower's physical damage against the same group.

Should You Invest?
Polyphemus is an SR rated T4 on this site. With a [Fervor] partner and talent level 4, doubled damage gives him real upside; without one he is an ordinary area-damage Archer. He is worth building only if your team already produces [Fervor].
