Will of the Sun
S3 · Secret SkillWhen a Basic Attack crits a target marked with Sigil of Radiance, there's a 17-21% chance to gain Fervor.

Our Take on Apollo
Apollo is in our T1 and has been the benchmark for single-target damage across several versions. The Sigil of Radiance talent is the engine: every basic attack adds a Sigil, every skill hit then deals 2-3.6% of the target's Max HP per stack, and every 10 Sigil applications add 12% Crit Damage for the rest of the battle, up to 10 times. Solar Arrow Stream turns Death Rattle into extra arrows, and Grace turns basic attacks into splash damage. Apollo needs Sanctum Glory partners who provide Morale to reach Grace. The SSR EX rarity and a star rating aimed at big spenders mean free-to-play players should think hard before chasing copies; for bosses, Apollo is the top Sanctum option.
Strengths
- +Sigil of Radiance adds 2-3.6% of the target's Max HP per stack to every skill hit, which is why Apollo scales so well into bosses.
- +Solar Arrow Stream fires 30 arrows at 74-106% of Attack each, plus 10 more for every 5 Death Rattle stacks, with 40% Damage Reduction while firing.
- +Lightfall Arrow Rain gives Apollo a Death Rattle stack and Attack Speed Up on every cast, so stacks build even when no ally falls.
- +Talent node 4 adds 12% Crit Damage for every 10 Sigil applications, up to 10 times, so damage keeps climbing in long fights.
Weaknesses
- −Grace needs both Morale and Fervor; Apollo only supplies Fervor, so the splash damage depends on teammates.
- −Pulling and starring are both rated for big spenders, and SSR EX copies are expensive.
- −The exclusive relic is mainly a PvP upgrade; its PvE damage gain is small.
- −Damage is single-target focused; Lightfall Arrow Rain's area hits are modest.
How to Play Apollo
Apollo sits in the back row and is cast first or second in Sanctum Glory example teams, either opening the Overdrive order or following Athena's Taunt. Talent node 2 grants Fervor to every back-row ally at battle start, so placing Gabriel, Vivienne and other carries in the back row helps the whole team toward Grace. Apollo's damage ramps. Basic attacks apply Sigil of Radiance, crits on Sigil targets can grant Fervor, and at max Sigil stacks the two nearest allies get Fervor too. Once Apollo holds Morale and Fervor, Grace makes every basic attack splash for 190-310% of Attack. Morale has to come from teammates: Gabriel's Benediction, Rin's talent or Caesar's Servant's Rally. For Solar Arrow Stream, Death Rattle is the resource. Lightfall Arrow Rain gives one stack per cast, and Hela's Soul Lamp grants a stack every second to allies in its range, so Hela teams fire noticeably more arrows. The level 6 divinity, Blazing Arrowstream, adds 40% damage against targets below 50% HP, which makes the Overdrive a finisher in the second half of a boss fight. For divinity, Otherworld Attack Speed at level 2 and Otherworld Attack at level 4 both feed off Death Rattle. In PvP, protect Apollo from divers with a strong tank; against bosses, the longer the fight, the more the Crit Damage stacks pay off.
Good Teammates
- Gabriel (SSR+) – Gabriel's Benediction grants Morale to allies, prioritising Sanctum Glory, which completes Apollo's Grace; Apollo's battle-start Fervor for the back row helps Gabriel's Grace in return.
- Rin (SSR+) – Rin grants Morale to the highest-Attack Sanctum Glory ally on skill crits, usually Apollo, and follows Apollo in example Overdrive orders.
- Hela (SSR EX) – Hela's Soul Lamp grants a Death Rattle stack every second to allies in range, feeding Solar Arrow Stream's extra arrows.
- Vivienne (SSR+) – Vivienne possesses the highest-Attack ally in the same column, adding a shield, bonus Attack and Crit Damage Up, plus Fervor at talent node 2.
- Athena (SSR EX) – Athena's Martial Verdict taunts enemies in a large area and opens the Overdrive order before Apollo, holding divers off the back row while Sigils stack.
Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.
Should You Invest?
Apollo is rated for big spenders: SSR EX copies are expensive and Diamond rank takes 18 copies. Free-to-play players should treat Apollo as optional, since Sanctum Glory has cheaper carries such as Gabriel. For divinity, take Otherworld Attack Speed at level 2, Attack Enhancement at 3, Otherworld Attack at 4, Attack Speed Enhancement at 5 and Blazing Arrowstream at 6. Gear is the Attack set with the Penetration weapon and Judgment accessory, or the Crit Damage set. Bloodhunter is the subclass, adding 3-4.8% Attack per buff gained, up to 10 stacks. The exclusive Sacred Solarflare Bow mainly helps in PvP, so PvE-focused players can skip it.
Apollo FAQ
- Is Apollo worth pulling for free-to-play players?
- Apollo is one of the best single-target carries, but both pulling and starring are rated for big spenders. A free-to-play account usually gets more from SSR+ units that fill several teams. Pull Apollo if you focus on bosses and Sanctum Glory content and can afford the copies.
- Apollo or Jing?
- Apollo has the higher single-target ceiling and is often seen as an upgrade over Jing, but they lead different factions. Apollo carries Sanctum Glory and Otherworld Return teams, while Jing is the Wild Spirit main carry and also fits Otherworld summon teams. Pick the one that matches the faction you play most.
- Is Sacred Solarflare Bow worth it?
- Mainly for PvP. At Purple 6 it adds a piercing arrow for every 10 arrows of Solar Arrow Stream, at Red 6 the first Overdrive after entering Grace fires 90 arrows, and Divinity 3 adds 4 Sigil stacks with the first basic attack on each enemy. Its PvE damage gain is small.
- How does Apollo reach Grace?
- Apollo needs both Morale and Fervor. Fervor comes from Will of the Sun when basic attacks crit Sigil-marked targets; Morale must come from teammates such as Gabriel, Rin or Caesar. In Grace, basic attacks deal 190-310% of Attack as splash damage.
