Our Take on Goren
Goren is an SSR Guardian whose stats shift with his HP: Golem Growth makes him larger with more Physical Defense at high HP, and gives more Attack and Attack Speed at low HP. Crushing Summit slams a large area for physical damage equal to 28% of his Max HP and stuns for 3 seconds. Rocket Skull throws a stone at a random ally and grants [Fervor] to allies in a medium area around it.
Strengths
- +Crushing Summit is a large-area 3-second [Stun], and talent level 2 extends it to 6 seconds against enemies under an [Elemental Debuff].
- +Hardness grants a 12% Max HP shield every time he casts any skill, giving him steady defensive uptime.
- +Rocket Skull spreads [Fervor] to several allies, a key ingredient for [Grace] teammates.
Weaknesses
- โHe produces his own [Fervor] but no [Morale], so his own [Grace] (and the maximum size it locks in) needs an ally.
- โRocket Skull's target is random, so which allies get [Fervor] is not under your control, and the text does not quantify the size and stat scaling of Golem Growth.
How to Play Goren
Goren holds the front row. Open with Crushing Summit to stun a large group, and if a teammate has already applied an [Elemental Debuff], level 2 doubles that stun to 6 seconds. Keep casting skills so Hardness keeps refreshing his shield. Once an ally gives him [Morale], he enters [Grace] and stays at maximum size, which is where talent levels 4 (control immunity) and 7 (immunity to [Physical Defense Down] and [Damage Reduction] debuffs) apply. Level 4 is his most important defensive upgrade.
Good Teammates
- Melina (SSR) โ Melina's Arcane Blessing gives [Morale] to an ally, prioritizing Sanctum Glory units like Goren, while Goren's Rocket Skull can supply the [Fervor] Melina needs for her own [Grace].
- Chiron (SR) โ Chiron's All or Nothing grants [Morale], completing [Grace] for Goren, who already generates [Fervor].
- Polyphemus (SR) โ Polyphemus gains [Morale] from Meteor Shower and only needs [Fervor] for [Grace] and doubled damage, which Rocket Skull can provide.
- Buck (SR) โ Buck's Magma Pulse applies [Ignite] across a large circle, setting up the 6-second Crushing Summit stun from Goren's talent level 2.

Should You Invest?
Goren is an SSR rated T2 here. He is most valuable in [Grace] teams, where he both supplies [Fervor] and benefits from [Morale]; in teams without [Morale] sources his level 4 and 7 upgrades rarely turn on. If you run Melina, Polyphemus or other [Grace] users, he is a sensible build.
Goren FAQ
- How does Goren enter [Grace]?
- He needs both [Morale] and [Fervor]. He gets [Fervor] from Rocket Skull or Titanic Will's 8% chance when hit, but [Morale] must come from an ally such as Melina or Chiron.
- How long does Goren's stun last?
- Crushing Summit stuns for 3 seconds, or 6 seconds at talent level 2 against enemies already under an [Elemental Debuff].
