Our Take on Gudong

Gudong is an SSR Otherworld Return Guardian whose kit keeps working after defeat. While alive, Gudong stuns with Cheep-Cheep and spawns slimes with Split; when defeated, Gudong leaves a crippling slime puddle and summons three more slimes.

Strengths

  • +Cheep-Cheep deals 320% damage to a single target and stuns it for 5 seconds.
  • +Slime Shield's puddle reduces enemy Movement Speed by 80% and Attack by 40% for 5 seconds after Gudong is defeated.
  • +Split spawns small slimes every 16 seconds (max 3), and Slime Swarm adds 3 more on death that inherit 20% of Gudong's Attack and HP for 20 seconds.
  • +Second Breath restores 20% of Gudong's max HP.

Weaknesses

  • โˆ’Two of the strongest effects in this kit only trigger on death, which conflicts with the role of a front-line tank.
  • โˆ’The slimes inherit only 20% of Gudong's stats, so they are distractions rather than real damage.
  • โˆ’Levels 2 and 3 are worded unclearly; the text does not define a high-cost enemy or what the 25% boost replaces.

How to Play Gudong

Gudong is a front-row Guardian. Use Cheep-Cheep to stun the most dangerous enemy and let Split keep slimes on the field to soak attention. Second Breath buys time, but do not over-protect Gudong: the puddle and death slimes are part of the value, so placing Gudong where enemies converge makes the puddle hit more units. Level 4 gives slimes a 15% chance to apply attack down, the clearest upgrade. Level 7 adds Overdrive cost pressure tied to slime defeats.

Good Teammates

  • Beowulf (SSR) โ€“ Beowulf gains Deathrattle stacks from allied defeats, and Gudong is designed to die and still contribute.
  • White Tiger (SSR) โ€“ White Tiger's level 2 gives 1.5% Attack per [Deathrattle] from allied defeats, which Gudong's death supplies.
  • Mordred (SSR) โ€“ Mordred's Soul Sacrifice Annihilation gains 25% per sacrificed summon; the text does not say whether allied slimes count, so test this before relying on it.

Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.

Should You Invest?

Gudong is SSR and rated T3 here. Gudong is a niche tank for Deathrattle or summoner teams, and many players may get more from a Guardian who stays alive.
