Our Take on Mordred
Mordred is an SSR Otherworld Return Assassin with heavy hits that each have a condition. Soul Sacrifice Annihilation deals 660% line magic damage and gains 25% per sacrificed summon, Mourning Edge Devour deals 510% with 3% more per Deathrattle stack, and Devour Wheel deals 75% more to targets with an elemental debuff.
Strengths
- +Soul Sacrifice Annihilation makes him untargetable while casting, which protects him during his biggest hit.
- +Elemental Devour fires a water bomb at the farthest enemy that applies chill, so he can set up Devour Wheel's 75% bonus without help.
- +Flaw Execution adds 35% damage against enemies with no buffs.
- +Level 7 dispels all target buffs at 6+ Deathrattle stacks, which also opens targets to Flaw Execution.
Weaknesses
- โHis kit has no summons of its own, and the text does not say whether allied summons can be sacrificed for Soul Sacrifice Annihilation.
- โMourning Edge Devour and level 7 depend on Deathrattle stacks, which come from allies dying.
- โThe Elemental Devour text says it heals the target for 40% of damage dealt; it is unclear whether this means Mordred or the enemy hit.
How to Play Mordred
Mordred works as a front-line Assassin who picks his moments. Elemental Devour chills the farthest enemy; follow with Devour Wheel on chilled or otherwise debuffed enemies for its 75% bonus. Use Soul Sacrifice Annihilation when summons are available or when you need a safe, untargetable window. Level 2 shortens Devour by 4 seconds per elemental reaction, the best upgrade in elemental teams. Level 4 and level 7 matter in Deathrattle teams that expect losses.
Good Teammates
- Siegfried (SSR) โ Siegfried's Blazing Vortex applies ignite, an elemental debuff that triggers Devour Wheel's 75% bonus on more targets.
- Telperion (SSR) โ Telperion's Void Disintegration applies shock, giving Mordred another elemental debuff for Devour Wheel and a possible reaction for level 2.
- Gudong (SSR) โ Gudong keeps up to 3 slimes active, a possible source of summons for Soul Sacrifice Annihilation if the game counts allied summons.
Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.
Should You Invest?
Mordred is SSR and rated T3 on this site. He can deal large numbers when his conditions are met, but those conditions rely on other units, so build him only once you have elemental or Deathrattle partners.
Mordred FAQ
- Can Mordred sacrifice allied summons?
- The in-game text says Soul Sacrifice Annihilation sacrifices summons (max 2, or 3 at level 4) but does not specify whose. Test it in battle before building around it.
- Does Mordred need elemental debuffs?
- His Devour Wheel deals 75% more to elemental-debuffed targets. His own Elemental Devour applies chill to the farthest enemy, and allies can add more.
