Our Take on Salome
Salome arrived on 24 September 2026 and sits at T2. She is a different kind of tank: instead of stacking shields and defense she dodges, heals on every dodge, and turns the enemies hitting her into Charm targets through Drunken Step Aroma stacks. She also supports Shock teams, since each Shock an ally inflicts gives that ally stacking Bonus Damage and Damage Reduction. That is why she fits both Elemental Echo and Otherworld Return lineups. The downside is variance: a dodge tank can lose to a run of hits that land, and Red 3 is the recommended minimum for decent tankiness. Build her if you play either of her factions and want control from your front line.
Strengths
- +Every dodge heals 6-7.8% of Max HP and applies Drunken Step Aroma to the attacker, so taking hits is how she sets up Charm.
- +Drunken Phantom Dance Charms enemies with 5 or more Aroma stacks for 5 seconds, and Drunken Dream Waltz at divinity level 6 lowers that to 3 stacks and 8 seconds.
- +Each Shock an ally inflicts gives that ally 3.4-5.2% Bonus Damage and Damage Reduction for 7 seconds, stacking 10 times.
- +Stormdance of the Sands gives a 28-52% Max HP shield and Shocks a large circle, and while the shield holds her dodge healing is 50% stronger.
Weaknesses
- −Dodge is probabilistic; a run of hits that land can break her where a defense tank would hold.
- −Red 3 is the recommended minimum for decent tankiness, a real investment for an SSR+.
- −Her dance and orb damage scale off current HP, so they weaken as she takes damage.
How to Play Salome
Salome stands in the front row and wants to be hit, because every dodge heals her and stacks Drunken Step Aroma on the attacker. Drunken Phantom Dance (18-10 second cooldown) then Charms anyone at 5 or more stacks and gives nearby allies Dodge Up, and at talent level 7 a target reaching full stacks triggers a Charm in a medium circle while she heals 30% of her Max HP. Use Stormdance of the Sands early: the shield boosts her dodge healing by 50%, and the electric orbs apply Shock. Her Overdrive, Dance of Shifting Sands, comes late in the example orders, after Asmodeus, Loki, Spimo and Hela in Otherworld Return, or after Vermilion Bird, Morgana, Zagreus and Thor in Elemental Echo. By then her target carries Aroma stacks, each adding 20% to the four dance hits, and at talent level 2 all four hits apply Shock. In Elemental Echo she benefits from reactions: talent level 4 adds Hit Down and an Aroma stack whenever allies trigger Detonation or Flash Freeze, so Morgana and Zagreus speed up her Charm. For gear, HP with the Arcane set is standard; a Block build also works if you can reach 1200 Block or more. In PvP, the Charm control and dodge healing make her a frustrating tank to break.
Good Teammates
- Morgana (SSR+) – Morgana turns allied Burn and Shock into reactions, and every Detonation or Flash Freeze adds an Aroma stack toward Salome's Charm.
- Thor (SSR EX) – Thunder Prison Judgment applies Shock up to 3 times per target, and each Shock earns Thor a stack of Salome's Bonus Damage and Damage Reduction buff.
- Zagreus (SSR+) – Zagreus applies Cold and works off Flash Freeze, and each Flash Freeze an ally triggers adds Hit Down and Aroma through Salome's talent level 4.
- Loki (SSR EX) – In both Otherworld Return example formations Salome tanks for Loki and Asmodeus, whose Overdrives open the order.

Should You Invest?
Red 3 and up is the recommendation for decent tankiness. Her exclusive relic, Seven Veils, gives all allies 900 Dodge for 12 seconds at Purple 6, and at Red 6 Charmed enemies are buffed while they fight for her side and lose 2 buffs when the Charm ends. Dwarven Warhammer (750 Block) is the cheaper alternative. For divinity take Health Enhancement at level 1, Elemental Crit Resist at level 2, Health Enhancement at level 3, Elemental Haste at level 4, Health Enhancement at level 5 and Drunken Dream Waltz at level 6. Templar or Guardian is the subclass. Free-to-play players should build her only if they play Elemental Echo or Otherworld Return.
Salome FAQ
- Is Salome worth pulling?
- If you play Elemental Echo or Otherworld Return, yes. She is a T2 tank that adds Charm control and buffs Shock users, and she fits both factions' example formations. If you prefer predictable tanks, a defense-based Guardian like Caesar is steadier.
- Block or Dodge build for Salome?
- The standard build is HP with the Arcane or Evade set, which leans on her built-in Dodge. A Block set also works well, but aim for 1200 Block or more; the Dwarven Warhammer relic adds 750 Block toward that.
- What star level does Salome need?
- Red 3 and up is the recommendation for decent tankiness. Below that her dodge healing and Charm still work, but she is easier to break.
- What is the best relic for Salome?
- Seven Veils, her exclusive SSR+ relic, if you can invest in it: team-wide Dodge at the start of battle and stronger Charm effects at Red 6. Dwarven Warhammer is the practical alternative, especially for Block builds.
