How Affection works

Affection grows from gifts, dates and Heart Trials. Dates come in two kinds:

• Ordinary dates give 100 Affection each. Every SSR+ and SSR EX Luminary in our data has four, each set in a named location.
• The special date opens at a set Affection level and gives 150 Affection and 500 Diamonds. Its scene is kept as a CG.

The unlock level follows rarity with no exceptions in our data: all 11 SSR EX Luminaries open theirs at Lv 10, 40 of 41 SSR+ Luminaries at Lv 8 (Siegfried at Lv 2), and all 15 SSR Luminaries at Lv 5. Most SSR Luminaries have no ordinary dates listed, only the special one.

What higher Affection unlocks

• Heart Trial stages. Each Heart Trial stage unlocks at an Affection level once the stage before it is cleared. Heart Trials pay Affection items and the Luminary's own shards.
• Lv 16: Heart background magnifier. View a Luminary's Heart background up close (17 Luminaries).
• Lv 20: shards from every sweep. For 17 Luminaries, every Heart Trial sweep drops shards.

The Lv 20 perk is the one that matters for power: it turns Heart Trial sweeps into a reliable shard source. Luminaries of the same origin share one set of Heart Trial progress, and if you own several, you choose whose shards you want before each run.

A faction's Luminaries like its gifts most. Since most Luminaries belong to two factions, each one has two gift lines that suit her. Check her factions on her character page or the factions page before you hand out the 100-point gifts.

Planning your Affection

• SSR (Lv 5, 370 total). The cheapest special dates on the roster. A handful of gifts opens one, and 500 Diamonds for 370 Affection is the best rate among special dates. Do these first for every SSR you own.
• SSR+ (Lv 8, 1,720 total). Four ordinary dates cover 400. The other 1,320 is 14 top-tier faction gifts, or 9 Luxury Tea Sets.
• SSR EX (Lv 10, 3,820 total). After the four dates you still need 3,420, more than double the SSR+ goal.
• Lv 20 (32,320 total). A long-term target for the Luminary you want shards for.

Since the Diamonds come only from special dates, opening many of them beats pushing one Luminary high, unless you want her Lv 20 shard perk.
