Quick answer: Arachne is a limited SSR+ Mage for Wild Spirit and Illusion Veil, on her limited summon from 22 October to 5 November 2026. She stacks Web on the enemy with the highest Attack, wraps them in Cocoon at 10 stacks, and then transforms back and forth with Overdrives that cost 0 Energy. The kit is strong once it gets going, but it is slow to start and leans on allies who trigger Punishment. Our early verdict is T2: pull only if you already run an Illusion Veil Punishment team or chase Tower of Babel rankings. Everyone else should take the free copy from the Superheroine in Training event and save for the Mythical Summon.

Key takeaways

  • Banner: 22 October 05:00 to 5 November 04:59 (UTC-5), after main story 2-20 on a server at least 8 days old.
  • She has two forms. In Spider Form she gets +100% Attack Speed, ignores 10% Magic Defense and halves Silk Missile's cooldown.
  • Applying Cocoon makes her next transformation free. Once no enemy carries Cocoon, the transformation back is also free.
  • Ally Punishments feed her Web stacks, so she belongs with Pompey, Atanith, Tyrfing and Lilith.
  • The 29 October update fixed a bug where her Overdrive could cause battle errors. Results from her first week should be read with that in mind.
  • This is an early read. No lineups with her have been recorded yet, and the usual community rankings have not rated her.

She arrived with the Across the Multiverse themed event. Raising her stars there unlocks her Supernova skin; the teaser mentions 6 stars. The Tower of Babel Trial ran alongside her banner with the Illusion Veil and Wild Spirit towers open.

The kit, skill by skill

S2 Silk Missile (Ultimate, 8s): the Web engine

In Human Form she fires a missile at the enemy Luminary or Wyrm with the highest Attack. It deals 1200-1920% of her Attack as magic damage and applies 3 stacks of Web. If the missile triggers Punishment, it adds 1 more stack.

When the target already has 10 Web, the missile consumes them, applies Cocoon for 8 seconds and clears all control effects from Arachne. If Cocoon cannot be applied, she instead deals true damage equal to 15% of her Attack per Web stack, doubled at 10 stacks.

In Spider Form the cooldown is halved. The missile then deals the same 1200-1920% damage, and on a Punishment trigger it adds magic damage equal to 200% of the target's lost HP, capped at 2000% of her Attack.

S1 Spider Mother's True Form (Overdrive, 3s): the transformation

  • Human to Spider: she leaps onto an enemy carrying Cocoon and deals 900-1440% of her Attack as magic damage in a large circle. Spider Form grants +100% Attack Speed and ignores 10% Magic Defense. After she has applied Cocoon, this cast costs 0 Energy.
  • Spider to Human: she leaps back to where she started and deals 900-1440% in a medium circle. While no enemy carries Cocoon, this cast also costs 0 Energy.

She is untargetable during both leaps.

S3 Spider Instinct (Secret) and S4 Venom Frenzy (Special)

Spider Instinct adds 15-24% HP. If she takes fatal damage in Spider Form, she becomes immune to control and damage and untargetable for 4 seconds, then switches back to Human Form. Venom Frenzy builds Rage as she loses HP. At full Rage she enters Wild, heals 20-32% of her HP and gains 30-48% Damage Dealt, plus the same amount of Lifesteal while in Spider Form.

Talent: Thread of Fate

Node Effect
1 Each ally Punishment applies 1 Web to its target. Her attacks on a Cocooned enemy deal extra true damage (30-48% of Attack).
2 Every 10 Web she applies resets Silk Missile's cooldown.
3 +10% Attack Speed, +5 Skill Haste.
4 Each Silk Missile permanently adds 7% Attack, up to 280%.
5-6 The true damage from node 1 rises to 42%, then 45% of Attack.
7 Each Overdrive restores 100% Rage. At 10 Web, the Human Form missile also strips all of the target's shields.

Node 7 is what makes the loop work: every transformation refills her Rage, so she re-enters Wild, heals and gains damage each time.

How the loop actually plays

  1. Setup. Silk Missile applies 3 Web every 8 seconds, 4 if it triggers Punishment. On her own she needs three or four missiles to reach 10 stacks, which is a long time in a PvP fight.
  2. Acceleration. Every ally Punishment adds a stack. Every 10 stacks she applies resets the missile's cooldown. A team that triggers Punishment often can bring the first Cocoon in well under half that time.
  3. First Cocoon. The next missile wraps the target for 8 seconds. Her Overdrive is now free: she leaps in, deals large AoE damage, enters Spider Form and, with node 7, goes straight into Wild.
  4. Spider window. With doubled Attack Speed and a 4-second missile, she hits the cocooned target with extra true damage. Punishment triggers add damage based on its lost HP.
  5. Reset. When Cocoon expires, the return transformation is free. She leaps back, deals another AoE, gets a full Rage refill and starts stacking Web again.

Two things make this awkward:

  • Target choice is fixed. Silk Missile always aims at the highest-Attack enemy. That is often the right target, but you cannot point her at a healer.
  • The first Cocoon is the bottleneck. If the opponent wins before it lands, she has done little more than two missiles' worth of damage.

Partners by faction

Her talent rewards Punishment from anyone, and her Divinity options add Attack, Crit or Haste when she or an ally triggers it. Her two factions give two ways to build around her.

Illusion Veil: the Punishment shell

Slot Luminary Why
Tank Pompey Dominion Slash can trigger Punishment, and talent node 2 taxes the enemy's next Overdrive
Priest Atanith Silent Judgment hits every enemy and can trigger Punishment for a Silence
Carry Tyrfing Each ally Punishment cuts her Overdrive cost by 1 and raises her next Overdrive damage
Flex Lilith Casts Shadowblade Dance at battle start, which can trigger Punishment from talent node 4
Flex Artemis or Caesar Artemis gains damage per ally Punishment; Caesar's Earthshatter Strike stuns on Punishment

This is the team where Arachne makes the most sense. Pompey, Atanith and Lilith all trigger Punishment early, which speeds up her first Cocoon, and Tyrfing benefits from the same triggers.

Wild Spirit: the Wild-state shell

Slot Luminary Why
Tank Athena 8-second AoE taunt buys time for the Web stacks
Priest Venus Heals any ally for 18% of Max HP when they enter Wild, which Arachne does on every transformation
Support Chiron +25% Attack Speed for allies in Wild
Flex Lilith Her node 7 adds 50% Bonus Damage for Wild allies hitting Echo of Pain targets
Carry Tyrfing or Huginn & Muninn Fast hitters who spread Echo of Pain damage

Here Arachne's value comes from re-entering Wild on every transformation. The shell has fewer Punishment sources, so her first Cocoon comes later.

Budget partners

Herman, Nemesis, Medusa and Pan Junbao all have Punishment riders and are easier to own than the limited units above. Herman (Arcane Wisdom / Illusion Veil) is a Guardian who can hold the front line, and Pan Junbao (Wild Spirit / Illusion Veil) taunts an enemy at battle start.

Overdrive order

In the Illusion Veil shell: Atanith > Pompey > Lilith > Arachne > Tyrfing.

Open with Atanith to tax enemy Overdrives and fish for an early Silence. Pompey adds Intimidation and a second Punishment chance. Lilith's Song of Extinction Silences targets already carrying Echo of Pain. Arachne goes once Cocoon is on a target, because the cast is free then and wasted before. Tyrfing goes last, after the team's Punishments have lowered her cost and stacked her damage bonus.

Early verdict

Strengths

  • Two free Overdrives per cycle, each a large AoE, with untargetability during both leaps.
  • A permanent Attack ramp of up to 280% makes her very strong in long fights such as bosses and the later floors of the Tower of Babel.
  • At node 7 her Human Form missile strips all shields from a target with 10 Web, which counters shield-heavy Sanctum Glory and Otherworld Return teams.

Weaknesses

  • Slow first Cocoon without Punishment support.
  • Fixed targeting on the highest-Attack enemy.
  • Her best effects sit on high talent nodes, and there is no settled star target yet.

Who should pull

  • Players with Pompey, Atanith and Tyrfing who want a third Punishment payoff.
  • Tower of Babel ranking players. That mode needs her factions and makes the featured unit fight on every floor, though it lends a temporary copy if you do not own her.
  • Players who want her Supernova skin.

Who should skip

  • Free-to-play accounts without an Illusion Veil core. The Superheroine in Training event offers a copy, and the Mythical Summon running at the same time is a better use of Diamonds.
  • Accounts that mainly play Arena, where her slow start is a real cost.

We will revisit her placement on the tier list once recorded lineups and a few weeks of Tower of Babel results exist. For full lineups that fit her factions, see the teams page.

FAQ

Is Arachne limited?

Yes. She is a limited SSR+ on her own summon from 22 October to 5 November 2026. A copy is also available from the Super Supply Hub in the Superheroine in Training event. Each player gets up to 30 days from unlocking it, ending no later than 3 December.

Do I need Arachne for the Tower of Babel Trial?

No. The featured Luminary must fight in every battle, but the game lends you a temporary one if you do not own her. Owning and starring her helps your score.

Why does her Overdrive cost 0 Energy?

Both transformations become free under a condition. Going to Spider Form is free once she has applied Cocoon, and going back is free while no enemy carries Cocoon. Before the first Cocoon, the Overdrive is not free.

What is the best team for Arachne?

An Illusion Veil Punishment team: Pompey, Atanith, Lilith, Tyrfing, Arachne and either Artemis or Caesar. Every ally Punishment adds a Web stack, which brings her first Cocoon sooner.

Is Arachne better than Himiko?

They do different jobs, and both are T2. Himiko is a Wild Spirit / Arcane Wisdom archer who binds two targets so damage on one hurts the other. Arachne is a Wild Spirit / Illusion Veil mage built on Punishment and Cocoon. Pick by faction, not by power.
