Our Take on Venus

Venus is T0. Her healing is strong, but the reason she counters most damage dealers in PvP is stacking Damage Reduction: Divine Melody adds 26-46% to every ally she heals, and the same again at or below 50% HP, on top of her own Damage Reduction from talent levels 5 and 7. Heavensong evens out the team's HP so focus fire on one unit is spread across the team, then cleanses all control and debuffs at talent level 3. Bewitchment Charms the first melee unit to hit her for 9-9.8 seconds, plus 6 more at talent level 4. She fits every team, and Red 1 is the target for big spenders. If you can get her, she is worth it.

Strengths

  • +Divine Melody gives each healed ally 26-46% Damage Reduction, plus another 26-46% at or below 50% HP.
  • +Heavensong equalises allied HP before healing 25-41% of Max HP, which spreads focused damage across the team.
  • +Talent level 3 adds a full cleanse of control and debuffs and 5 seconds of Control Immunity to Heavensong.
  • +Bewitchment Charms the first melee attacker for 9-9.8 seconds, extended by 6 seconds at talent level 4, and keeps her immune to control until it triggers.

Weaknesses

  • −As an SSR EX she is expensive to raise, and the Red 1 target is aimed at big spenders.
  • −Her damage is minor; Siren Strings is a debuff tool rather than a threat.
  • −Bewitchment only triggers on the first melee hit, so ranged-heavy teams avoid her Charm entirely.

How to Play Venus

Venus goes in the back row. In most Wild Spirit formations she casts right after Athena's opening Taunt, or first when Athena is absent. Timing Heavensong is the main skill: cast it after the enemy's opening burst, when HP is uneven, so the equalise moves health from your healthy units to the one being focused, and the talent level 3 cleanse removes the control that came with the burst. Heavensong also gets 1 Energy cheaper every time Stun or Silence is applied to another Luminary, so teams with Lilith, whose Song of Extinction Silences, bring her Overdrive back faster. Heart Seed heals around the lowest-HP ally on a 12-second cooldown, and each heal applies Divine Melody. She is strongest with Wild Spirit units. Talent level 2 heals any ally that enters Wild or triggers an Elemental Reaction for 18% of Max HP, and her divinity picks at levels 2 and 4 trigger on Wild entries. Love Unending at divinity level 6 gives same-faction allies a 30% Max HP shield on Heavensong, another reason to field her with Wild Spirit or Elemental Echo teammates. In PvP, keep her away from ranged burst; against melee divers, Bewitchment does the work.

Good Teammates

  • Athena (SSR EX) – Athena opens most of Venus's formations with a Taunt that costs 40% of current HP, and Heavensong's equalise and Divine Melody cover that cost.
  • Lilith (SSR+) – Song of Extinction's Silence makes Venus's next Heavensong 1 Energy cheaper, and the two share Wild Spirit and three formations.
  • Tyrfing (SSR+) – Tyrfing enters Wild, which triggers Venus's 18% Max HP heal at talent level 2 and her Wild-based divinity buffs.
  • Huginn & Muninn (SSR+) – Ricochet costs 5% of current HP per basic attack and builds toward Wild, and Venus's heals and Wild-entry healing offset that cost.

Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.

Should You Invest?

Red 1 is the minimum target for big spenders; others can run her lower, since Heavensong, Heart Seed and Divine Melody do the core job from the start. Her exclusive relic is Cradle of Eros: at Red 6 allies entering Wild gain 4 seconds of Control Immunity and cut Heavensong's cooldown by 3 seconds, and its divinity effect is a team-wide emergency heal when an ally drops below 25% HP. For divinity take Health Enhancement at level 1, Wild Haste at level 2, Health Enhancement at level 3, Wild Haste at level 4, Health Enhancement at level 5 and Love Unending at level 6. Gear is four Haste pieces with Arcane, and High Priest is the subclass.

Venus FAQ

Is Venus worth pulling?
Yes. She is T0, fits every team, and her Damage Reduction and cleanse make her one of the best answers to burst damage in PvP. As an SSR EX she takes a long time to raise to high stars, but she is useful at low stars too.
What star level does Venus need?
Red 1 at least is the target for big spenders. Free-to-play and light spenders can run her lower, since Heavensong, Heart Seed and Divine Melody already do the core job.
Is Venus good in PvP?
She is one of the best PvP supports. Heavensong spreads focused damage across the team and cleanses control, Divine Melody stacks Damage Reduction on every healed ally, and Bewitchment Charms melee divers. Ranged burst teams are the main way around her.
Venus or Morgana?
It depends on your faction. Venus is a general healer who fits Wild Spirit and every other team; Morgana is the specialist who powers Elemental Echo reactions and refunds Overdrive Points. Both are T0 and both are Elemental Echo, but Morgana's reaction engine is the reason to pick her for that team.
