Our Take on Artemis
Artemis is T1 and one of the most common names in Arcane Wisdom and Illusion Veil teams. She does three things. Darkmoon Embrace is a buff for ranged allies: 25 Haste and 25-52% Bonus Damage for 6 seconds. Her Darkmoon state, applied at battle start to up to four ranged allies from talent level 3, is the source of her opening invincibility role. And each time she enters or leaves Darkmoon, Phantom Hunt fires at every enemy Luminary with a chance to raise their next Overdrive cost by 1, which wins PvP fights through tempo. At 5 Moon Soul she enters Full Moon and becomes a real carry. She is among the announced picks for the 29 October Mythical Summon, and a strong use of it.
Strengths
- +Darkmoon Embrace gives all allied ranged Luminaries 25 Haste and 25-52% Bonus Damage for 6 seconds, and talent level 4 extends every effect by 50%.
- +Phantom Hunt fires at every enemy Luminary on each Darkmoon entry and exit, with a 50% chance (guaranteed on Overdrives that cost less than 4) to raise their next Overdrive cost by 1.
- +Full Moon at 5 Moon Soul adds 60-132% Attack, 200% Attack Speed and a 2 Energy discount on her Overdrive, and talent level 4 grants all 5 stacks on each Darkmoon Embrace.
- +Strigine Leap answers an incoming crit with 0.5 seconds of Damage Immunity and a counter shot of 630-1110% of Attack, silencing the attacker for 5 seconds on Punishment.
Weaknesses
- −Darkmoon Embrace also places the lowest-HP ally in Darkmoon; if that is your only tank, enemies lose their target and reach your backline, so teams need two frontliners.
- −Her team buffs only reach ranged allies, so melee-heavy lineups waste much of them.
- −Without another eligible ally, her Darkmoon durations are halved.
- −As an SSR EX she is expensive, and her carry role starts at Red 1★, which takes 8 copies.
How to Play Artemis
Artemis plays in the back row with ranged teammates, since Darkmoon Embrace, the battle-start Darkmoon from talent level 3 and Darkmoon Surge all affect ranged allies only. Most recorded teams cast her Overdrive first, or right after a cost-tax opener such as Atanith: the buff lands before everyone else's Overdrives, and the Darkmoon entry and exit each fire a Phantom Hunt volley. Bring two frontliners. Darkmoon Embrace also puts the lowest-HP ally into Darkmoon, and if that is your only tank, enemies drop it as a target and walk into your backline. In manual play, check your tank's HP before casting. Moon Soul is her carry meter. Darkmoon Embrace grants 3 stacks (5 at talent level 4), and Arrow of the Moon Goddess adds more, so with talent level 4 every Overdrive puts her straight into Full Moon: 200% Attack Speed, each basic attack cutting Arrow's cooldown by 1 second, and a cheaper next Overdrive. Arrow spends Awakening from allied Overdrives on a second, stronger arrow, so a rotation with many Overdrives feeds her. Phantom Hunt gains 8% damage per allied Punishment, up to 240%, which is why she pairs with Atanith, Pompey and other Punishment users. In PvP, the Overdrive tax and the 5-second Silence from Strigine Leap matter more than her damage. In PvE, focus on Full Moon uptime.
Good Teammates
- Atanith (SSR) – Atanith shares both factions, taxes every enemy's next Overdrive with Silent Judgment and triggers Punishment, which raises Phantom Hunt's damage by 8% each time.
- Pompey (SSR+) – Pompey is the second frontliner Artemis teams need so one tank stays targetable outside Darkmoon, and her Dominion Slash Punishments boost Phantom Hunt.
- Ningrose (SSR+) – Ningrose is a ranged Illusion carry, so she receives the full Darkmoon Embrace Haste and Bonus Damage buff.
- Lilith (SSR+) – Lilith's Shadowblade Dance can trigger Punishment from talent level 4 and pushes back enemy Overdrive cooldowns, stacking with Artemis's Overdrive tax.
- Talos (SSR+) – Talos shares Arcane Wisdom and casts after Artemis in recorded rotations, and as a ranged Mage she benefits from Darkmoon Embrace's Haste.
Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.
Should You Invest?
Two star targets are listed: Purple 3★ (4 copies) is the low bar, where she already works as a support, and Red 1★ (8 copies) is the middle bar for carry play. Divinity: Arcane Attack Speed at level 2, Arcane Crit at 4, Attack Speed Enhancement at 5 and Darkmoon Surge at 6. Dwarven Musket is her relic, with Star Crystal Greatsword as the alternative. Sharpshooter suits her basic-attack Full Moon, Bloodhunter her many buffs. Gear: Haste with Arcane, or Crit Damage sets. Free players can stop at Purple 3★.
Artemis FAQ
- Is Artemis worth pulling in October 2026?
- Yes, for Arcane Wisdom or Illusion Veil players. She is T1, a staple of both factions' teams, and useful from Purple 3★. The 29 October Mythical Summon lets you select an SSR EX Luminary and Artemis is among the announced picks, so it is a good chance to get her.
- What star level does Artemis need?
- Purple 3★ is the low bar for support use, and Red 1★ is the middle bar where her carry damage comes online. Purple 3★ takes 4 copies and Red 1★ takes 8.
- Is Artemis good in PvP?
- Very. Phantom Hunt can raise every enemy's next Overdrive cost on each Darkmoon entry and exit, Strigine Leap counters crits with a 5-second Silence on Punishment, and the opening Darkmoon protects your ranged backline. The Holy King Contest and Guild War are her best modes.
- What is the best relic for Artemis?
- Dwarven Musket, for 37.5% Crit Damage and a chance to apply a random Stat Debuff after basic attack crits. Star Crystal Greatsword is the alternative if you want Attack and defenses that grow over a long fight.
