Jormungandr Dragon Traveler Build & Guide
World Serpent
Overview
Jormungandr is an SSR+ Assassin for Sanctum Glory and Illusion Veil. Her talent, Ravaging Maw, bites the current target every 9 seconds for damage that scales with the target's lost HP, and doubles that portion in Grace. Her Overdrive adds a double-strength bite. She is a PvE finisher with very high single hits when paired with Vivienne.

Our Take on Jormungandr
Jormungandr sits at T4 overall but plays better in PvE than that suggests. Ravaging Maw is the engine: every 9 seconds (6 at talent level 7) it adds damage equal to 35% of the target's lost HP, capped at 350% of Attack, and in Grace that becomes 70% with a 700% cap. Titancoil Domain adds a double-strength Maw on top of its own hits, and kills chain into new bites with Plague of Fangs. She produces Morale herself; Fervor has to come from a partner, and Vivienne's possession is the classic source. The weak side is PvP: with no control immunity or invincibility she dies early. Build her for Sanctum Glory PvE if you already own Vivienne.
Strengths
- +Ravaging Maw scales with the target's lost HP, up to 70% of it in Grace (capped at 700% of Attack), so her damage climbs as targets weaken.
- +Titancoil Domain hits for 410-610% of Attack, splashes a large circle and adds a Ravaging Maw at twice its normal damage.
- +Talent level 2 cuts all her cooldowns by 2 seconds whenever Ravaging Maw crits, and Plague of Fangs at Divinity level 6 fires another Maw at the lowest-HP enemy after each kill.
- +Venombrand can trigger Punishment for an extra 0.8x Maw and Healing Down, and Chaos Banquet grants her Morale on every Overdrive or Punishment.
Weaknesses
- −She has no control immunity or invincibility, so she dies quickly in PvP.
- −Grace needs Fervor from a teammate; without Vivienne or another Fervor source, half her damage ceiling is out of reach.
- −Her exclusive relic is rated highly for PvE but poorly for PvP, and her best boss results also call for gear and artifact investment.
How to Play Jormungandr
Jormungandr is a melee Assassin. She wants to reach the enemy backline or the boss, so keep her off the front row where she would soak damage meant for your tank. Ravaging Maw fires on its own timer against her current target, so focusing one enemy matters more than spreading hits. Grace doubles Maw's lost-HP scaling. Chaos Banquet gives her Morale each time she casts an Overdrive or triggers Punishment, so the missing piece is Fervor. Vivienne's possession grants Fervor at talent level 2 and adds a shield and an Attack bonus on top, which is why the pair is known for the highest single hits an Assassin can reach. Lorilin's Blessing of Brilliance is another Fervor source that prefers Sanctum Glory allies. Cast Titancoil Domain on a target that has already lost a good share of HP, so the double Maw it adds lands at its strongest. Venombrand in between can trigger Punishment for more Maw damage plus Healing Down. At talent level 4 each kill gives Morale to her and two random allies, preferring Sanctum Glory, so she also helps Grace-based teammates as she clears. In Illusion Veil teams, frequent allied Punishment triggers power her Divinity nodes and her relic. On auto in PvP she tends to waste Overdrives and lacks survival tools. Keep her for PvE and manual fights.
Good Teammates
- Vivienne (SSR+) – Vivienne's possession grants Fervor for Grace, a shield and a large Attack bonus, the combination behind Jormungandr's biggest single hits.
- Lorilin (SSR) – Lorilin's Blessing of Brilliance gives Fervor to a random ally, preferring Sanctum Glory, which completes Grace with the Morale Jormungandr makes herself.
- Athena (SSR EX) – Athena's 8-second Taunt keeps enemies off a fragile Assassin, and both appear together in recorded Sanctum Glory lineups.
- Atanith (SSR) – Atanith shares Illusion Veil and triggers Punishment with Silent Judgment, powering Jormungandr's Illusion Divinity choices and her relic in Illusion teams.
Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.
Should You Invest?
Star investment is listed as medium. Ravaging Maw's 6-second timer at talent level 7 is the upgrade that most raises her damage. Divinity: Sanctum Attack or Sanctum Crit Damage at levels 2 and 4 (they trigger on Blessing Buffs and on allies entering Grace), Attack Enhancement at 3 and 5, and Plague of Fangs at 6. Her exclusive relic, Ringbound Demonblade, lets Maw trigger Punishment and permanently removes 6% of a non-boss target's Max HP per stack. Executioner is her subclass; gear is the Attack set with Penetration and Judgment. Free players should build her only alongside Vivienne.
Jormungandr FAQ
- Is Jormungandr good?
- In PvE, yes, more than her T4 tier suggests: lost-HP scaling and Grace give her some of the highest single hits an Assassin can deal with Vivienne. In PvP she is fragile and wastes Overdrives on auto, which is why her overall tier is low.
- How do you get Jormungandr into Grace?
- She needs Morale and Fervor. She gains Morale herself from Chaos Banquet whenever she casts an Overdrive or triggers Punishment. Fervor must come from a teammate, most reliably Vivienne's possession at talent level 2 or Lorilin's Blessing of Brilliance.
- Is Jormungandr's exclusive relic worth it?
- For PvE, yes. Ringbound Demonblade lets Ravaging Maw trigger Punishment, cuts a non-boss target's Max HP by 6% per stack (12% upgraded) up to 3 stacks, and opens the battle with Untargetable and 80% more Attack for 10 seconds. It is rated poorly for PvP.
