Gullveig
Overview
Gullveig applies relentless healing suppression while scaling damage through debuffs and Deathrattle stacks. She is a direct answer to sustain-heavy teams.

โจ Lv4 talent upgrade turns this into [Heal Block], greatly reducing sustain windows.

Our Take on Gullveig
Gullveig is a back-row magic damage dealer whose main job is cutting enemy healing. Her Overdrive, Abyssal Grasp, hits a large circle for 330% Magic Damage and applies [Healing Down], which becomes [Heal Block] at talent level 4. Soul Siphon then drains one target for 470% over 6 seconds and heals your lowest-HP ally for 282% of her Attack.
Strengths
- +Talent level 4 turns Abyssal Grasp's [Healing Down] into [Heal Block], which the skill text says greatly reduces enemy sustain windows.
- +Soul Siphon heals the ally with the lowest HP percentage for 282% of her Attack, so she adds some sustain while dealing damage.
- +Debuff Predation adds 12% damage for each debuff on the target, up to 60%, and her own [Healing Down] and Netherblast's [Chill] count toward it.
- +At talent level 7, Soul Siphon and Netherblast each hit 1 extra target, always the highest-Attack enemy.
Weaknesses
- โReaching the 60% Debuff Predation cap takes five debuffs on one target, and she supplies only two types herself, so the full bonus depends on teammates.
- โEternal Youth's [Deathrattle] stacks (+1% Attack each) and the talent level 2 proc bonus only grow when your own allies are defeated.
- โSoul Siphon is a single-target drain over 6 seconds until talent level 7; the in-game text does not say whether it can be interrupted.
How to Play Gullveig
As a Mage, Gullveig belongs in the back row, where she can survive long enough to repeat Abyssal Grasp. Aim the Overdrive at clustered enemies, especially ones standing near the enemy healer, so [Healing Down] or [Heal Block] lands on as many targets as possible. Soul Siphon and Netherblast follow up, and Netherblast's [Chill] stacks another debuff for Debuff Predation. Talent level 4 is the upgrade that matters most, because [Heal Block] is what makes her a counter to healer and revive teams. Level 7 comes next, adding a hit on the highest-Attack enemy. Level 2's random [Healing Down] chance (10%, plus 1% per [Deathrattle]) is a minor bonus.
Good Teammates
- Melina (SSR) โ Melina's Phoenix Talon applies [Ignite] and Sanctum of Light inflicts [Magic Defense Down], adding two debuffs for Debuff Predation while also lowering resistance to Gullveig's magic damage.
- Bladeheart (SR) โ Bladeheart's Ruthless Hunt inflicts [Shock] and Apex Predator inflicts [Physical Defense Down], raising the debuff count on targets Gullveig is hitting.
- Siegfried (SR) โ The SR Siegfried applies [Ignite] with Infernal Wyrm and [Physical Defense Down] with Flamecleave across wide areas, stacking debuffs on the same front-line enemies Abyssal Grasp covers.

Should You Invest?
Gullveig is an SSR rated T2 on this site, and her value comes from one specific job: shutting down enemy healing. If you often face sustain-heavy or revive-based teams, getting her to talent level 4 for [Heal Block] is a reasonable goal. If your content is mostly short PvE stages, a pure damage dealer is probably a better use of resources.
Gullveig FAQ
- What does Gullveig's talent level 4 do?
- It changes Abyssal Grasp so it applies [Heal Block] instead of [Healing Down]. The in-game text says this greatly reduces enemy sustain windows but does not give an exact healing-reduction value.
- Is Gullveig a healer?
- Not mainly. Soul Siphon does restore HP equal to 282% of her Attack to the ally with the lowest HP percentage, so she contributes some healing alongside her 470% Magic Damage drain.
