Our Take on Helveil
Helveil is an SSR Sanctum Glory Guardian focused on damage reduction and crit defense. Spirit Shackles creates a 5-second defensive formation with control immunity, Soul Suck grants a shield of 5% max HP per enemy hit, and the Soul Bastion talent gives the whole team 180 critical resistance.
Strengths
- +Soul Bastion grants 180 crit resistance to every ally, and level 7 adds 30% damage reduction against attackers whose crit is below Helveil's resistance.
- +Spirit Shackles deals 200% area damage while granting control immunity and damage reduction for 5 seconds; level 4 adds attack down on hit.
- +Soul Suck's shield scales with targets hit (5% max HP each for 8 seconds), and Dark Shield deals 15% max HP area damage with critical down when a shield goes unbroken.
Weaknesses
- โThe Spirit Shackles text is contradictory: it lists 100% damage reduction and then says outside hits double this reduction, so the real value is unclear.
- โSoul Domain is described only as a passive aura supporting team defenses, yet level 2 doubles its healing in [Grace]; the base healing is never stated.
- โThe crit-resistance package matters most against crit-focused enemies and offers less against teams that do not rely on critical hits.
How to Play Helveil
Helveil is a front-row Guardian. Use Soul Suck when several enemies are in the cone so the shield is as large as possible, and open Spirit Shackles when the enemy commits burst damage. If the shield survives, Dark Shield turns it into area damage and a critical down debuff. Level 7 is the defining upgrade because it builds on the team-wide crit resistance. Level 2 only matters if your team can put Helveil in [Grace], which requires allies that supply [Morale] and [Fervor].
Good Teammates
- Arthur (SSR) โ Arthur's Fervor Shield gives [Fervor] to ally Luminaries, one of the two buffs Helveil needs for the level 2 [Grace] bonus.
- Guna (SSR) โ Guna's Iron Bulwark Shock grants [Morale], at level 4 to a large area, supplying the other half of [Grace] for Helveil.

Should You Invest?
Helveil is SSR and rated T3 on this site. The team-wide crit resistance is a real niche, so Helveil may be worth building for content dominated by crit damage dealers, but several skills are too vaguely worded to evaluate with confidence.
Helveil FAQ
- What does Helveil's Soul Bastion do?
- It grants 180 crit resistance to all team members and gives a 15% chance to restore 2% HP after non-critical hits.
- Is Helveil a good tank?
- Helveil is a specialist against critical damage. Against crit-heavy teams the talent and level 7 damage reduction are useful; elsewhere a T0 or T1 Guardian is likely the safer choice.
