Our Take on Asmodeus

Asmodeus is T1 and the first Overdrive in every listed Rebirth formation. Her talent gives every allied elite summon Hellfire as it enters the field: 50-90% more Attack and an aura that deals 210-370% of her Attack per second around it, 10% more for each Death Rattle stack. She tanks too: Damage Reduction rises by 20% per elite summon on the field, up to 120%, and Thirst for Blood returns a share of summon damage as healing, for the whole team once she is in Wild. Her star investment is Diamond recommended, and she is marked as a must-build for Otherworld summon teams. If that is your team, she is your first priority.

Strengths

  • +Hellfire gives every allied elite summon 50-90% more Attack and an aura dealing 210-370% of her Attack per second, plus 10% per Death Rattle stack.
  • +At talent level 4 she gains 20% Damage Reduction for each allied elite summon on the field, up to 120%.
  • +Thirst for Blood heals her for 33-57% of Hellfire and summon damage, and in the Wild state heals all allied Luminaries for 22-38% of it.
  • +Infernal Dance lands 6 hits, each with a 30% chance to Stun for 0.2 seconds and heal 10% of Max HP, redirected to the weakest ally when she is full.

Weaknesses

  • −Her value is tied to summons; outside an Otherworld summon team much of the kit has nothing to buff.
  • −Demon King's Decree costs 40% of her current HP.
  • −Diamond is the recommended star level, which takes 18 copies.
  • −Enemies that raise Overdrive Energy costs slow her opening cast, and her signature relic is the targeted answer to that.

How to Play Asmodeus

Asmodeus goes first. In every Rebirth formation and both Spirit formations she appears in, her Overdrive opens the order, usually followed by Loki and Spimo. The reason is the buff chain: Demonic Reinforcement drops 3 Imps, and at the end of the skill every allied elite summon gains Hellfire. Anything summoned later gains Hellfire on entering the field, and Spimo's Overdrive copies the strongest summon already out. She plays as a front-line Warrior. Demon King's Decree spends 40% of current HP to shield herself and every elite summon for 37-65% of their Max HP, with Attack Speed Up and Attack Boost, and that HP loss is also the fastest way into Wild, where her healing spreads to the whole team. When playing manually, aim her first Overdrive at the enemy front line. Talent level 2 extends Hellfire to 9 seconds, and level 7 makes Furious Thrust apply Demon Spike, worth 40% more Hellfire and summon damage per stack, up to 3 stacks. For divinity take Health at level 1, Otherworld Attack at level 2, Health or Anti-Crit at level 3, the Otherworld defensive option at level 4, Health at level 5 and Parting Gift at level 6, which detonates each dying Imp for 400% of her Attack and applies Magic Defense Down.

Good Teammates

  • Loki (SSR EX) – Loki shares both Otherworld Return and Wild Spirit and casts right after Asmodeus in nearly every listed formation.
  • Spimo (SSR+) – Spimo's Overdrive copies the highest-Attack allied summon, so casting after Asmodeus lets her duplicate a Hellfire-buffed summon, and her summons heal the team.
  • Faust (SSR+) – Faust's Krul is an elite summon that inherits 100% of Faust's stats, so Hellfire's 50-90% Attack bonus on him is worth a lot.
  • Jing (SSR+) – Jing's formation gives allied Elite Summons 90% Crit Damage and fires Phantom Swords when they attack, stacking with Hellfire.
  • Heidren (SSR+) – Heidren gives 2 Death Rattle stacks to all Otherworld Return allies, and each stack adds 10% to Hellfire's damage.

Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.

Should You Invest?

Diamond is the recommended star level, and she is a must-build for Otherworld summon teams. For divinity take the Health nodes, Otherworld Attack at level 2 and Parting Gift at level 6. Her signature relic, Original Sin Blind Box: Lust, is mainly a PvP tool: it removes Next Overdrive Cost Increase effects from allies when elite summons arrive. Elven Greatshield, with 68% Damage Reduction at battle start, is the listed alternative. Use Sword Master or Berserker and the Arcane Haste set with Tome of Stars and Starlight Magisterium. Free-to-play summon players should put copies here first.

Asmodeus FAQ

Is Asmodeus worth pulling?
Yes, if you play or plan an Otherworld summon team. She is T1, marked as a must-build for that team, and sits first in every listed Rebirth Overdrive order. Outside summon teams she loses most of her value.
Why does Asmodeus cast her Overdrive first?
Because it buffs everything that follows. Demonic Reinforcement summons 3 Imps and gives Hellfire to every allied elite summon, and summons that enter later gain Hellfire on arrival. Casting her first means Loki, Spimo and Faust's summons all benefit.
What is the best relic for Asmodeus?
For PvP, her signature Original Sin Blind Box: Lust. It adds Crit Resist, Block and HP, removes Next Overdrive Cost Increase from an ally whenever an elite summon enters, and at Divinity 3 turns cost increases on herself into a reduction until her first Overdrive. For PvE, Elven Greatshield is the listed alternative.
What star level does Asmodeus need?
Diamond is the recommended level, which takes 18 copies in total. She works earlier, but because she is the core of summon teams, her stars pay off across the whole lineup.
