Overview

Orion is an SSR+ Archer from Elemental Echo and Illusion Veil who applies Heal Block through Full Focus basic attacks and can Stun a target for 6 seconds with Magicrystal Arrow. Orion Skills

Magicrystal Arrow

S1 · Overdrive · 18s cooldown

Deals physical damage equal to 560-960% of own Attack to a single target. Then gains Attack Speed Up, continuously attacks the target for the next 12s, and greatly increases own attack range. This skill can trigger Punishment. When Punishment is triggered, additionally inflicts Stun for 6s.

Arrowgeddon

S2 · Ultimate Skill · 14s cooldown

Launches 2 fan-shaped volleys of arrows, which count as basic attacks. Each arrow deals physical damage equal to 115-205% of this unit's Attack. If multiple arrows hit the same target within the same volley, damage from those arrows is reduced to 20%.

While in the Full Focus state, fires 1 additional volley of arrows.

Frost Arrow

S3 · Secret Skill

After dealing damage, has a 12% chance to inflict Cold (can only trigger once every 4s on the same target). Increases Attack by 24-40% when attacking enemies afflicted with an Elemental Debuff.

Frozen Bloodline

S4 · Special Skill

Increases own Attack Speed by 26-48% and Accuracy by 390-720. Effects are halved when enemies get too close.

Ranges such as 340-520% show the value at skill level 1 and at max level. Keywords are explained in the glossary.

Talent: Hunter's Focus

  1. Lv 1

Gains 7% Energy when a basic attack hits. If the target is afflicted with Elemental Debuff, gains an additional 7% Energy. At full Energy, enters Full Focus, continuously consuming Energy. When Energy reaches 0, exits Full Focus.

While in Full Focus, basic attacks fire a flurry of arrows, dealing physical damage equal to 195-339% of Attack and inflicting Heal Block once.

  2. Lv 2

Before dealing damage, Magicrystal Arrow increases the Energy Cost of the target's next Overdrive by 1.

  3. Lv 3

Increases Attack by 10% and Attack Speed by 3%.

  4. Lv 4

After dealing damage, Magicrystal Arrow is guaranteed to inflict Cold. Upon cast, immediately restores 50% Energy.

  5. Lv 7

Gains 100% Energy at the start of combat.

Orion Build: Relic, Gear and Subclass

Relic

Artemis's Sorrow SSR+ exclusive · first choice

  • Purple 6: While in the Focus Status, reduces Crit by 1500, increases 200% Attack Speed, and 50% Attack.
  • Red 6: Magicrystal Arrow Extends the duration of the Stun to 7s and extends the time for continuously attacking the target and increasing its own attack range to 20s.
  • Divinity 3: While in Full Focus status, Arrow Gust can deal damage to targets in the Untargetable status (but will not prioritize targets in the Untargetable status). Teams with Orion

Formations players run with Orion. Lists longer than six include the usual substitutes; the Overdrive order is the order to fire ultimates in manual play.

Atanith · Vivienne · Caesar · Ifrit · Artemis · Pompey · Talos · Scheherazade · Poseidon · Orion

Overdrive order: Atanith → Ifrit → Artemis → Vivienne

Atanith · Ningrose · Orion · Caesar · Poseidon · Ares · Pompey · Medusa · Herman · Tyrfing

Overdrive order: Atanith → Ningrose → Ares → Orion

Venus · Orion · Zagreus · Dvalin · Poseidon · Thor · Vivienne · Anubis · Lorilin · Gullveig

Overdrive order: Thor → Zagreus → Venus → Orion → Dvalin → Poseidon

Our Take on Orion

Orion is T2 in our list and one of the most useful PvE supports that also deals real damage. Hunter's Focus builds 7% Energy per basic hit, doubled against targets with an Elemental Debuff, and at full Energy Orion enters Full Focus, where basic attacks fire flurries of 195-339% of Attack and inflict Heal Block. Magicrystal Arrow hits a single target for 560-960% and, on Punishment, Stuns for 6 seconds while Orion locks onto that target for 12 seconds. Talent node 7 starts every battle at full Energy. That mix of healing denial and control puts Orion in example teams for Arcane, Sanctum, Illusion and Elemental lineups. Pick Orion up when lifesteal or heavy healing is the problem.

Strengths

  • +Full Focus basic attacks inflict Heal Block, shutting down healing and lifesteal on the focused target.
  • +Magicrystal Arrow can Stun for 6 seconds on Punishment and, at talent nodes 2 and 4, raises the target's next Overdrive cost by 1 and guarantees Cold.
  • +Frost Arrow adds 24-40% Attack against targets with an Elemental Debuff, and Hunter's Focus doubles Energy gain on them.
  • +Talent node 7 gives 100% Energy at battle start, so Full Focus and Heal Block are active from the opening seconds.

Weaknesses

  • −Orion is fragile and can fall to a single big hit in PvP.
  • −Frozen Bloodline's Attack Speed and Accuracy bonuses are halved when enemies get close.
  • −Arrowgeddon's arrows drop to 20% damage when several hit the same target, so it adds little against a single boss.
  • −The exclusive relic is best as a specific counter to untargetable enemies rather than a general damage upgrade.

How to Play Orion

Keep Orion in the back row with space around it. Frozen Bloodline's 26-48% Attack Speed and 390-720 Accuracy are halved when enemies get too close, so a tank that holds the line matters. Orion is a sub carry in most example teams and casts after the main pieces; one Illusion order runs Atanith, Ningrose, Ares and then Orion. Energy is the loop to watch. Basic hits give 7% Energy, or 14% against targets with an Elemental Debuff, so partners who spread Cold or Burn speed up Full Focus. Magicrystal Arrow at talent node 4 restores 50% Energy and guarantees Cold on its target, which in turn switches on Frost Arrow's 24-40% Attack bonus. Talent node 7 makes the first Full Focus start immediately. Aim Magicrystal Arrow at the enemy healer or the lifesteal carry. The Overdrive locks Orion onto that target for 12 seconds with much longer range, and Full Focus basic attacks keep applying Heal Block. If it triggers Punishment, the target is also Stunned for 6 seconds. For divinity, Elemental Attack Speed at level 2 and Elemental Attack at level 4 fit the build, and Focused Combo at level 6 adds 30% of Attack to every hit during Full Focus. In PvE, Orion is a default answer to sustain-heavy stages and bosses. In PvP, keep Orion behind a strong front line.

Good Teammates

  • Poseidon (SSR EX) – Every Poseidon skill inflicts Cold, which doubles Orion's Energy gain and switches on Frost Arrow's Attack bonus; both share Elemental Echo and Illusion Veil.
  • Vermilion Bird (SSR+) – Vermilion Bird shares both factions and spreads Burn across the enemy team, giving Orion Elemental Debuff targets everywhere.
  • Atanith (SSR) – Atanith casts before Orion in an Illusion example team and also raises enemy Overdrive costs, stacking with Magicrystal Arrow's cost increase at talent node 2.
  • Artemis (SSR EX) – Artemis's Darkmoon Embrace gives ranged allies 25 Haste and 25-52% Bonus Damage, which Orion uses as a ranged sub carry in Illusion teams.

Keywords in brackets are explained in the status effect glossary.

Should You Invest?

Orion is Diamond-recommended, which takes 18 copies. Take Elemental Attack Speed at divinity level 2, Attack Enhancement at 3, Elemental Attack at 4, Attack Speed Enhancement at 5 and Focused Combo at 6. Gear is the Attack Speed set with the Penetration weapon and either the Judgment accessory or Dragonblood Seal; the Attack set becomes an option after Divinity 3 on the exclusive relic. Sharpshooter is the subclass. Artemis's Sorrow, the exclusive relic, lets Full Focus volleys hit untargetable units at Divinity 3, a direct counter to Artemis and Loki. Free-to-play players get good value from Orion in PvE even without the relic.

Orion FAQ

Is Orion worth building?
Yes for PvE. Orion is one of the most useful supports there thanks to Heal Block on Full Focus basic attacks and a 6-second Stun from Magicrystal Arrow. In PvP Orion is fragile, so the value depends on your front line.
What does Orion's exclusive relic do?
Artemis's Sorrow trades 1,500 Crit for 200% Attack Speed and 50% Attack during Focus at Purple 6, and at Red 6 extends Magicrystal Arrow's Stun to 7 seconds and the lock-on to 20 seconds. At Divinity 3, Full Focus volleys can hit untargetable enemies, which counters Artemis and Loki.
Is Orion good in PvP?
Situationally. Heal Block and the Stun are strong, and Orion still sees play in the Holy King Contest, but Orion is fragile and can be removed by one big hit. A tank that keeps enemies away also stops Frozen Bloodline's bonuses from being halved.
Which teams use Orion?
Many. Example teams place Orion as a sub carry in Arcane Wisdom, Sanctum Glory, Illusion Veil and Elemental Echo lineups, next to units like Atanith, Apollo, Poseidon and Thor.
